Baked Chicken Rice Recipe

This is a really simple version of the classic Baked chicken rice recipe. You only need like 5 ingredients and about 10 minutes to prepare it.

Cooking time: 1.5 Hours

Preparation Time: 15 minutes

Serves: 6


  • 1 Whole chicken, or equivalent in Breasts or legs

  • 1 can of creamy Chicken soup

  • Salt and Pepper

  • 1 Cup of Basmati rice

  • Lump of butter

  • 1 Cup of Water

TIP: You can also use creamy mushroom soup instead of chicken.


Find a nice large baking tray. A large casserole dish would be perfect. Line the inside of it with aluminium foil, making sure there is a good seal.

Pour in the rice, flatten it out to a nice level. put the chicken on top of the rice

Mix the water with the creamy soup and then add to the dish, make sure that the chicken gets a good coating.

Put bits small bits of butter over the chicken and the rice.

Cover the whole thing with tin foil and put it into a preheated oven at 180°C and cook for about 1.5 hours.

Remove from the oven and remove the tin foil. Put it under the grill for a few minutes to brown.

TIP: Serve with fresh vegetables.
